WHERE DOES MY ORDER SHIP FROM?

Your order will ship from Japan.

HOW MUCH DOES SHIPPING COST?

Orders over $120 (USD) ship for free. The cost of shipping for orders under $120 varies depending on the weight of your purchase, your location, and the courier available. Once you get to the checkout, options to your location will be available for you to select.

WHICH COUNTRIES DO YOU SHIP TO?

We ship (almost) anywhere worldwide.

WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO RECEIVE MY ORDER?

The following timeframes are estimates only as parcels can be held up in customs or during peak times. 

- Fedex and DHL usually deliver within 4 business days.

- Japan Post usually delivers within 7 business days.

CAN I PURCHASE TRACKING AND INSURANCE FOR MY PARCEL?

All orders are shipped with tracking and insurance.

WILL I RECEIVE A TRACKING NUMBER ONCE MY ORDER HAS SHIPPED?

You will receive a tracking number via email once your order has shipped.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CUSTOMS FEES?

You are responsible for any potential customs fees or duties that may apply in your country.

However, here is some helpful information for our most common destinations:

United States
Orders under USD $800 are typically duty-free due to the US de minimis rule. Since we ship from Japan, most US customers do not have to pay any additional taxes or customs fees.

Australia
Orders under AUD $1,000 are not subject to import duties or GST. Most packages we send to Australia arrive without any additional charges.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE AFTER YOU RECEIVE MY ORDER TO SEND IT OUT?

We usually ship the following business day after receiving your order. This can vary in sale times however we will clearly show any delays on our website.

WHAT POSTAL SERVICES DO YOU USE?

We use FedEx, DHL, and Japan Post.

WHAT IF MY PARCEL HAS NOT ARRIVED OR HAS ARRIVED DAMAGED?

Once your item has been shipped you will receive an email with a tracking number and estimated time for its arrival to you. Please contact us 21 days after we have shipped it to you if it has not arrived.

If your parcel has arrived damaged, please do not open further, or wash any items. Take a clear picture of the damage and email with your order number/tracking number, and we will investigate this for you.

CAN YOU PLEASE MARK MY PARCEL AS A GIFT?

We are unable to mark your parcel a gift.

WHERE IS MISS MATATABI BASED?

Miss Matatabi is based in Japan.

DO I HAVE TO PAY JAPANESE TAXES?

Domestic orders shipped to addresses within Japan are subject to 10% consumption tax. This will be listed at the checkout. International orders are exempt from this charge.

WHAT IS THE WIDTH OF THE FABRIC?

Japanese fabrics have a standard width of 110cm (43 ") although some fabrics are wider and some not as wide. Please check each item description for exact measurements.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM YARDAGE I CAN PURCHASE?

The minimum yardage is 50cm which is just over half a yard length (20 ").

IF I ORDER MORE THAN 50CM WILL THE FABRIC COME AS ONE CONTINUOUS PIECE?

Absolutely. The fabric is cut once orders are received and will always be cut as continuous yardage.

WHAT CURRENCY ARE THESE PRICES?

The default prices are US dollars. You can select to view the prices in other currencies however all orders are processed in USD.
